Compare.org.nz launched in 2020 with a simple idea: New Zealanders deserve a better way to shop for insurance.
We noticed that while other countries had well-established comparison platforms, NZ was underserved. Kiwis were left to navigate a fragmented market on their own - visiting multiple websites, deciphering policy documents, and trying to figure out which provider offered the best value for their situation.
We built Compare.org.nz to change that. Starting with car insurance - the most commonly searched insurance product in New Zealand - we've expanded to cover 21 insurance types including home, contents, health, life, travel, pet, landlord, motorcycle, renters, business, boat, farm, and more.
Our team researches every provider, reviews customer ratings from platforms like Google, Feefo, Trustpilot, and Canstar, and presents the information in a format that's easy to understand and act on.
We're based in New Zealand and focused entirely on the NZ market. We understand the unique aspects of insurance here - from ACC and EQC to the voluntary nature of car insurance and the dominance of IAG and Suncorp in the market.
