Compare.org.nz is an insurance comparison and information platform. We provide general information about insurance products and providers available in New Zealand. We do not sell, arrange, or provide insurance. We are not a licensed financial adviser under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 (FMCA) and do not provide personalised financial advice.

Any information on the Site is general in nature and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional financial or insurance advice. You should always read the relevant Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) and policy wording before purchasing any insurance product.

Nothing on this Site constitutes financial advice within the meaning of the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013. The information we provide is for general comparison and educational purposes only. We do not:

When you click a link to an external website, you leave Compare.org.nz and the third party's terms and privacy policy will apply. We recommend reviewing those policies before providing any personal information.

6. Affiliate Relationships and Advertising

Compare.org.nz may receive referral fees, commissions, or other compensation from insurance providers when you click through to their website or obtain a quote via our Site. This commercial relationship may influence which providers are displayed, their order of appearance, or whether they are featured prominently (e.g. as "Sponsored").

However, our editorial content, ratings, and comparison data are not influenced by these commercial relationships. We are committed to presenting accurate, useful comparisons regardless of whether we receive compensation from a provider.

Any sponsored or paid content will be clearly identified as such in accordance with the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) Advertising Standards Code.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on Compare.org.nz - including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, data compilations, page layout, and underlying software - is the property of Compare.org.nz or its licensors and is protected under the Copyright Act 1994 and other applicable New Zealand intellectual property laws.

You may view, download, and print pages from the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use, provided you do not:

  • Remove any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
  • Reproduce, republish, or redistribute content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Compare.org.nz, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Site or breach of these Terms.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020. By using the Site, you consent to such processing.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a New Zealand court, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
